I can't believe Jack has been with us for 1/2 a year now! It's weird to think about life without him in it now. He brings such a sweet and peaceful presence, and I'm so lucky to call him mine.
He had TWO little teeth pop up from his lower gums a couple of weeks ago. He's been drooling and chewing like crazy for a long time now, and they finally made their debut. I forgot how sharp baby teeth are! It feels great when he occasionally bites and pulls while he's nursing, let me tell you.
He loves his bumbo, and being in the kitchen with us. He twists, turns, and arches to get his hands on whatever he can. I was in the middle of making a smoothie, and looked over to him munching on this bag. I don't know how he's able to get to stuff, but it's impressive!
He loves being in on all the action. He'll happily play on his mat if people are around, but his favourite place to be in on my hip. He wants to see everything.
Piper used to roll and roll and roll, and would make her way across the room that way, but Jack usually just rolls right onto his belly, and then walks his hands to turn himself to face whatever direction he wants. He's started tucking his feet in, sticking his booty up, and lunching himself forward. He does a lot of face planting haha, but it's so cute to watch. I think he'll start crawling soon! He's also aaalmost sitting up 100% by himself. He topples over to one side occasionally, but he's so close to keeping himself up all the time!
He is such a happy boy. He has the cutest gummy smiles, and his squeals are the best. He loves being scared for some reason, so I'm constantly growling suddenly in his face ha. I look like a crazy person, but he looooves it and always laughs. He also loves grabbing Piper's hair (which she doesn't care for), and laughs when she gets mad about it. It's a hoot for everyone...except Pipes.
I introduced solids a couple of weeks ago because he's been so interested in our food, and I felt like he was ready (I'm doing a mix of pureed and baby led weaning). He's tried peanut butter, bananas, apple sauce, avocado, mango, peach, and berries so far - and loves it all! I can't believe how much he can fit into his little body. He eats so much!
I also sleep trained him this month (I did a whole post HERE about it), and it's been LIFE CHANGING! He was cat napping all day, and waking up 3x a night, and I was slowly dying. He puts himself to sleep now, and sleeps like a champ! He usually takes 3 naps a day, sometimes 4, and sleeps for 12 hours at night now! He loves sleeping on his belly (or crossing his legs like in the picture) and holding/sucking on a muslim blanket. I could watch him sleep all day.
