Dressing this ever-growing bump is getting more and more challenging (seriously, I think it’s getting bigger by the second!). I’ve loved buying all sorts of things for the baby, but I can’t bring myself to buy lots of maternity clothes. I wanted to go as long as I could in my regular clothes, and now I only have 3 weeks left until being induced….soooo I’ve been getting creative :)
Gym clothes have been the hardest to get away with! Working out at home is fine because I wear whatever I want (I sight for sore eyes, I can assure you haha), but when I was teaching spin and working out at the gym I had to figure out ways to still look somewhat respectable without having to break the bank on maternity workout attire!
Here are a few tips and tricks I found helped me:
- Long tank tops! These have been my best friend! They are super comfortable still, and they grow with your belly and keep it covered! They’re definitely not as long as they’re intended to be now haha, but it works! I only had a couple before I got pregnant, so I did recently buy a couple more (because I can also wear them well after the baby comes!!). These have also been great when I wear workout shorts or leggings because they keep my belly covered (I still wear “regular” workout bottoms…just under my belly ha)!
- High-waisted pants! These are awwwesome!!! I had some shorts and capris that were high waisted with a stretchy band before I got pregnant, and I love them still at 36 weeks! I recently bought these and haven’t taken them off since (seriously, I wear them even when I’m not working out ha).
- Larger sized v-necks! I had a bunch of bigger white v-necks that I used to sleep in, and I’ve worn those a ton! I also bought some baggy v-necks here before I got pregnant and they’ve been great because they don’t look as ghetto haha, and I can wear them after I have the baby too!
Some people prefer to buy a lot of maternity clothes, but I much prefer buying cute clothes for my baby over buying clothes I’ll only wear for a few months! I’ve only bought a very small handful of clothes, and all of which I can wear post-pregnancy as well!
