Can I say I'm in the final stretch yet?? A couple of weeks ago someone told me I still had "a ways to go", and I wanted to donkey kick them in the face! A word to the wise -- do not make an 8 month pregnant lady feel like she STILL has a very long time left.
Well I'm gonna say I AM in the final stretch, and the countdown is officially on! On Wednesday I can say that baby comes NEXT month!! And on Saturday it'll be exactly a month until I'm induced! I can't wait!!
I always feel a little relieved when I make it to 34 weeks, because baby's born from now on don't generally have any health problems. Pregnancy can be so nerve wrecking, because you never really know what's going on in there, and if everything's okay. I'm so glad everything has gone smoothly so far! He is about 5lbs and 18 inches now, so getting prettyyyy dang close to where he'll be when he's born! Piper was 7lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long, but I think he might come out a little bigger. He still moves allllll the time, and has hiccups multiple times every day. I love it.
My lower back and hips have been so much achier this pregnancy! I think it's because I'm carrying him lower than I did with Piper, so there's more of a strain, AND because she wants me to carry her all the time. Sleep is still a huge pain, but that's pretty normal. I always tell myself I'm going to nap during Piper's nap, but I can never fall asleep! My body feels so tired, and I'm not sleeping the best, so I'm not sure how I'm functioning haha, but at least it's good practice for when the baby gets here!
Still chocolate haha. I mean, I don't blame myself because chocolate is so good, but I can't seem to get enough! JoJo's dark chocolate and protein bars have been my best friends lately. I'm a little nervous about what my consumption will be like this week with Halloween...eek.
My workouts have been better than last week because I haven't had any more contractions (thank goodness!). With Piper, I was still able to run at this point (usually just alternating between 2 min run/1 min walk), but running has been a total no-go during this pregnancy from early on. Some women run miles and miles up until they delivery, and others are lifting heavy and feel great. It goes to show how different pregnancy is for everyone, and how we need to listen to OUR bodies, and not compare to what other people are doing. It's not easy finding time/energy to exercise being 8 months pregnant with a crazy 17 month old, but I'm just plugging away and doing what I can. I'm still logging in all my workouts HERE.
Nesting is in FULL force! We moved into this apartment 2 months ago, but I'm still going through every single drawer, and organizing the place from top to bottom. I feel like a crazy person haha, but I can't help it!
We have a name for our little guy! Well, we've had it picked out for quite a while now, but we were bouncing between another one. The name we like the most for him is the one I used to call all my doll baby's when I was little. It's always been my favourite. We still refer to him as "baby", because I like seeing them first before ultimately deciding, but we're pretty set. T minus 5 weeks, people!
